Understand essential elements of the GDPR and how to implement these into a compliance framework.

Gain in-depth knowledge of numerous facets of compliance, such as data subject rights, transparency, GDPR scope, data processing principles, and more.

Understand accountability, including the roles and responsibilities of roles like the data protection officer (DPO), and completing data protection impact assessments (DPIAs)

Become familiar with the roles of the European Union, the Council of Europe, the Court of Justice of the EU and the European Court of Human Rights.

Recognise the roles of different legislation and their relationships with one another.

Have a solid grasp of the roles and powers of major regulatory bodies and supervisory authorities.

We don’t just deliver courses, and leave you to it. We provide you access to our online portal – which contains dozens of useful tools, templates, audits, policies, and more – all available for you to use within your organisation.  

At DPAS we’re conscious of our environmental impact. We therefore provide you with all the relevant reading materials, sample papers and courseware, online, prior to the course. This way, you can download and reuse these whenever you want.  

Though our courses are virtual, you’ll still be fully involved by participating in breakout sessions, asking questions, and sharing your experiences. You can receive valuable advice from peers in the industry, network with other delegates, and make worthwhile connections.  

Our trainers are here to help you. We will provide you with mentor support for one month after the course, to assist with any queries or issues you may have.

This course is primarily aimed at data protection and information security practitioners, industry professionals – both European and international – and simply those looking to expand their knowledge on various areas of data protection and privacy.

This qualification is likely to be of particular benefit to those working in the following areas:

Exam Information

The DPAS Training Manager will set you up on the dedicated MyIAPP portal which is where you will be able to access all training material, sample questions, and book your exam. To access this you will be sent a link directly from the IAPP. 

You can take your exam at any time that suits you, but please note there is a time limit of 12 months from your account activation to sit the exam. 

The exam itself is held at a Pearson VUE test centre. You will be able to book this via your MyIAPP account. The exam is a 2.5-hour closed book multiple choice exam. The pass rate is 63/90 (70%).  

If you have a disability or English is not your first language you may be entitled to extra time, further information can be found on the MyIAPP portal.

All of our courses are held virtually (unless otherwise stated).

All courses can be booked online here.

All our courses are tutor-led by experienced data protection professionals.

You will need access to Microsoft Teams (MS Teams) throughout the course.

All courses will commence at 9:00am and will finish at 4:00pm.

Breaks will be scheduled throughout the day. (If you need to attend a meeting during the day, please discuss this with the trainer so they can tie this into allocated breaks.)

You will be sent a link – via email  to the Microsoft Teams meeting two to three weeks prior to the course. (Please ensure that you are able to access this before the course commences.)

All courses have a maximum of 12 delegates.
