Description
The tragic death of Arthur Labinjo-Hughes and subsequent jailing of his Father and Mother was an echo of previous similar deaths, such as the death of Star Hobson, Victoria Climbie and Baby P, stretching back across the decades.
A common feature of these tragedies has been the failure and nervousness of professionals and organisations to effectively exchange information about vulnerable and at risk people often citing ill informed Data Protection Laws and Confidentiality reasons.
On this webinar, our expert panel will be talking about the vital role that data sharing plays in safeguarding children and young people. They will discuss:
- What the law says with regards to safeguarding and data protection
- Confidentiality and Human Rights considerations
- Common misconceptions and barriers
- Dealing with grey areas, such as early intervention
- Promoting best practice
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask the panel their views about this matter.
